The race
‘Slosh, slosh, slosh’ As the athletes pass a boisterous crowd cheering them on, footprints appear all over the ground turning it into a choppy sea. Elegantly autumnal trees waver. They send a silent breeze across the field. Leaping powerfully, the runners bound over a wooden hurdle, determined to finish the race. Lonely lime coloured lavatories lie behind the loud, large mass of people. Drenched in mud, the once milky white barriers change to be a tan brown hue. Vibrant uniforms are worn by all of the competitors making them look extra fierce. Mud flicks up onto everyone coating their feet and trainers in gloop. Spectators who stand around shivering are eager for a hot cup of cocoa. A while later the children finish the race one by one, the audience cheers with all their might as the children huff and puff far beyond the finish line.
